I was wondering how other teams have dealt with the issue of liability when they are not an official school activity. Our team has students from three different schools but is not covered under their insurance. We're thinking about the issues of a student being injured while working on a machine, travelling with the team, etc.

All of our students are required to have health insurance if they are to travel. We purchase coverage if they do not have a plan. They also have a wavier signed by the parents for treatment and care plus travel authority.

When at a school, no matter who the person is, if they get hurt the blanket coverage of the school district applies.
