Re: Archi-medes!

That is awesome news Peachtree Ridge.

By the way...team 1771 is officially in the Archimedes division. Anyone that wants to see what our robot is all about can check out the video in my signature. Needless to say we are much faster than that now. We were averaging 5 hurdles in eliminations and had one match with 7.

I love vacuum robots, especially when they work properly. It's good to see you got in, good luck at the competition!

Haha it's ok... I think I might like 1771's robot more than I like our robot. Thanks for the love, though.

The suction cup is a great idea if it works, some teams at boilermaker that had suction didn't do so hot (no pun intended).

Yeah I was watching the ones youtube and they look amazing, I had to scout 554 and they had a suction system that didn't work as planned. 1771's suction system is different from any I have seen and you can clearly see why they are so good.

It's probably how they have a custom designed sucking system

In a side note, if anyone has any little creatures from their team we may put them on our robot, if you look at our robot in our pit you will see little things like a chicken from 217 and a shark (forget where it came from) on our robot. You will need to contact me in order to do this though.

Re: Archi-medes!

O don't worry it definitely works and works well. We also have increased the strength of our shooter and we have a new method to remove the ball.

Did I read that right . . . 2 LAPS? Yikes! So you can get 8 lines in 15 seconds with time to spare? That is more than smokin' fast (believe me, I know how fast smokin' is )

Is there any video of you guys in competition? Our scouts have been through a lot of video, but have nothing to look at for you guys.

Re: Archi-medes!

It definitely has a lot to do with our custom suction device. The funnel is 21" diameter and we use a modified shop vac impeller assembly run off of 2 fisher price motors. We hold the ball with over 400lb of force so there is no way we're ever losing a ball from our grasp.
