I read in the App notes that there was no Loc tite allowed but it said: 1. No Grip Enhancers (a.k.a. Loc Tite™):
“Loc tite™” IS DEFINITELY NOT TO BE USED! Don’t even try it out, unless you buy your own and try it with that one. But it is not legal to use that type of material your robot on any coupling in the kit, including and especially the Trantorques™.

Does this mean only on the kit parts or anything? Could we use it on a nut of OURS that keeps shimmying loose?--not the 24 hour stuff but just some cheapy stuff to stop it from moving for one day? Thanks

The Lock - tight rule is there so we can re-use the parts next year. Also remember we (my class) will have to disassemble the robot if you do not.

I suggest the following:
1. Use 'Lock Washers', the sharp edge bites well into the alum.
2. Use nuts that have 'Nylock' inserts they work great. ( this is what we always use ) on assemblies.

Do not use Lock tight on our parts. Your bolts and nuts are ok, I would suggest however the answers I have suggested not the chemical answer.

Question:

Can we use Loc-tite type stuff on Trantorques and other shaft couplings?

Answer:

No. You can use Loc-tite on your own bolts, etc. but not on the couplings or Trantorques in the kit. We are trying to limit the number of un-useable parts that we get back for next year.
