Q&A Hose Clamps
Posted by Joe Johnson.   [PICTURE: SAME | NEW | HELP]
Engineer on team #47, Chief Delphi, from Pontiac Central High School and Delphi Automotive Systems. Posted on 11/9/2000 10:23 AM MST In Reply to: Hose Clamps posted by Rod Prather on 11/9/2000 10:07 AM MST: Question: Are hose clamps considered fasteners?? Answer: Difficult question. My initial thoughts are NO. But, then I thought, 'we allow Tie Wraps, don't we?' One might interpret a hose clamp as a Tie Wrap with a the ratcheting mechanism replaced by a screw type mechanism (I am thinking about the screw to tighten type of clamp, of course). So... ...Thinking about it in that way, I am ruling that hose clamps are allowed if used as fasteners. Joe J. |
