What a great photo! And what a great choice for a Woodie Flowers recipient!

No one at our school had even heard of FIRST until Mark dropped by one day and gave us a little sales pitch on this ridiculously expensive robotics competition that they did out in Toronto. (I'm pretty sure he mentioned the other regionals, too... but the thought of competing internationally was just so... foriegn... at the time.)

One thing led to another, Mark helped us put together some final funding details, put is in touch with team 1241 who would billet us in Toronto... and, well... since then well over 100 students on our team alone have benefitted from their involvement in FIRST.

And I don't even know what magic Mark and his colleagues had wrought in Ontario prior to that!

I wonder how many other teams have been touched in a similar way.
