With or without the gearbox? I think it's about 1.5 lbs with gearbox. (I'm not near any weight sheets that would have it right now, so I'm not sure exactly.)

Re: What is the weight of the Fisher price motor?

Without the gearbox. I am assuming that the gearbox weighs like .5 pounds and (generously) the motor itself is 1 pound? Is that close to the actual weight?

I am trying to make a 38:1 reduction gearbox that will accommodate 2 fp motors and will be under 5 pounds (with the motors).

thanks, vivek

The other way around would be closer. The gearbox is heavier than the motor with the FP. (I'm still not near the weight sheets, though.)

Re: What is the weight of the Fisher price motor?

I doubt that it weighs that much. The CIM is many times the size of the FP and wieghs only 2.5 pounds. My guess would put the FP at much closer to .5 pounds but thats just a guess.

The 550 motor supplied by banebots is listed at 7.7 ounces, Not EXACTLY the same motor; but extremely close as they are both 550 size motors.

Re: What is the weight of the Fisher price motor?

The fisher price motor + banebots gear box was .87 lbs when we measured it in 2006.

We've measured the fisher price motor + gearbox anywhere between 1.5 and 1.75 lbs over the years.
