[YMTC]: Should we have gotten a penalty?

SOAP video on TBA:
http://www.thebluealliance.net/tbatv...?matchid=10437

this was our (2630) last qualifying match at the CMP and by far our best performance...

but we have a bit of an argument on the team:
you can clearly see our robot's manipulator crossing the line in the wrong direction (i.e. G22 infraction) at the end of the match after the end-game buzzer.

should we have gotten a penalty for it? (we didn't)

No. Robots were "scored" based upon their location when the match ended, not when they came to rest.

as opposed to hybrid mode, where they were "scored" based upon their location after rest?
(I recall reading that robots coasting across the line after the end-of-hybrid buzzer were counted as crossing that last line....)

Also, If I remember correctly trackballs always score based upon their final resting place.. (RIP trackballs )
(e.g. the above match)
Aren't robots the same?

Nope, they specifically score the robots and the trackballs differently.

Robots are scored "photo-finish" at the buzzer, rather than when they come to rest.

Trackballs are scored when they come to rest.

So, you should not have gotten a penalty since your robot crossed the finish line after the buzzer. The call was correct.

Re: [YMTC]: Should we have gotten a penalty?

Robots were scored, both in hybrid and teleoperated, based on their position when the clock hit zero. Which hopefully coincided closely with the buzzer, but if there was a difference it was the clock that decided the end of the period.
