I think you have already found a great company to ask. I would send an email to them to see if they would be interested in making and selling your wheels. Tell them exactly what you have told everyone here and I believe that they will setup a nice deal for you.

No, not at all...
Last time I checked Andy and Mark were humans, and humans make mistakes. Also, did you reply to the email they sent? There are many things that could have gone wrong. I probably think they forgot about your plans, or they may be working on a prototype.

Andy checks the forums often and I am sure he will come across this one and reply. Andy's email is andyb@andymark.biz. You can send him an email and explain exactly what you are trying to explain to us.

While sending in your designs, please show reasonings behind why they should be produced. That is usually the way to convince a company to sell your product.

Take a look at the scholarships connected to FIRST that are listed here http://www.usfirst.org/scholarshipsearch.aspx (and - word to the wise - make good use of a spelling checker when writing your applications )

Re: i designed a omni wheel and need help finding money for college

And try to make two separate threads next time please...however much the two things you talk about are related, they are very different.

Yes, go to the FIRST scholarships site. If you haven't done so, register on the College Board website. They have amazing resources that not all students actually use when they should.

You must register for an account on there to use their resources though. Please use the site and also ask your guidance counselor about scholarships that you may be able to apply to. Also ask about financial aid - FAFSA is the common thing to fill out. Have you actually spoken with your guidance counselor about this yet? Good luck. (btw, there are other specific forums for this subject matter)

Re: i designed a omni wheel and need help finding money for college

If your design is solid AND easily manufactured, I'm sure AndyMark will give it full consideration. Offer to discuss improvements in the design with them - that's usually a very good learning experience.

With regard to college finances, as stated in the previous post, fill out the FAFSA. Most schools will require the FAFSA to be completed before they'll consider any sort of financial aid (grants or loans) for students. The federal deadline is June 30, but the deadline for particular colleges and universities may be much earlier (maybe already past).

Good luck!

Re: i designed a omni wheel and need help finding money for college

Unless the design will truly revolutionize omni-wheel design, and you are sure that it cannot be perfected further (ie. your next logical step, without question, is to apply for a patent), it's probably a safer bet to gain constructive criticism of it here than to keep it secret. 99.99% of us here believe deeply in gracious professionalism, and stealing someone's design would definatly not make my grandma proud.

Also, you don't have to give the community every dimension of your design. A simple picture or assembly diagram would help us improve your design and guide you as to where to go from here, without telling us how to reproduce it.
