Looking to mentor a rookie team in Washingtom DC area

Hi everyone.
My name is Ziv Oriol and this year i was in team 1690 in israel. Next year my family and I are moving to Rockville, MD. I heard that they intend to open a new regional in Washington DC so i've figured that that there must be a couple of rookie teams there. i feel like i have a lot to contribute to a rookie team so I would like to help out one next year. so i was wondering if any of you know of teams that need help or are in teams that need help, I would love it if you could leave me a PM or maybe contact me by Email:
Ziv_o123@walla.co.il
Thanks, Ziv.

Hi Ziv,

I've created a website called MentorSearch, http://mentorsearch.us. If you register, you can see mentors and teams around your area. I hope this will help you on your search for a team

Jenny Beatty (Robo Mom) might be able to help you. She's been a Senior Mentor and knows a lot about what's going on in the Maryland/DC area. She also posts frequently on Chief Delphi, so either e-mail or PM her.

Team 1820 (Magruder High School) is in Rockville. You can get in touch with them directly, or check out their web site at http://www.mcps.k12.md.us/schools/ma...Main/robotics/ I am sure that they would greatly appreciate your offer to help mentor the team.

There are also several other teams within 20 minutes of there that may also be able to use your assistance (such as Team 449 in Silver Spring, Team 1195 in Seat Pleasant, Team 2537 in Columbia, or Team 53 in Greenbelt, MD).

Hi Judy

Ziv,
Once you get settled in Maryland, send me an email, and I would be happy to help distribute your offer to mentor to the area teams and get you linked into the FIRST family here. I will send you my email address by PM.

Re: Looking to mentor a rookie team in Washingtom DC area

Ziv,

Welcome!

Along with the good suggestions you have gotten from Dave and Jenny, we should also connect you with Janet Lathan in DC, Jeff Tjiputra in Southern Maryland, and Dave Franc in West/Central Maryland. I'll send them pointers to this discussion thread.

Blake
PS: I'm in reasonably close by in Haymarket VA.
