Re: FIRST weigh in scales

This is the info I got from the Lead Inspector at GLR...

I am guessing that it was a 500 LBS scale.

320D-36 - 36" x 36" x 1 7/8" 500 lbs x 0.1 lb $899.00

Re: FIRST weigh in scales

Team 228 had two scales donated to us in 2004 from BMS; one was a 150 lb scale and the other was a 400 lb scale. The 150 lb has higher precision, but we normally use the 400 lb since we've found that a lot of students like to stand on them to see how much they weigh.

I've found the same models on McMaster: 17295T31 and 17295T39.

They are a lot cheaper than the other models, if you don't mind the +/- 0.2 or +/-0.5 lb increments respectively.

Re: FIRST weigh in scales

Speaking of FIRST scales. Our team we about 118lbs in Manchester. At Chesapeake we added about 2-3 pounds of upgrades and fixes. We were wondering how close it was going to be, but to our amazement, when we put the robot on the scale, it weighed a tiny bit less. Anybody have any idea how this could happen?

Different scales, different floors... It's been said that with several scales, a slightly heavier team would be directed to the "lightest"... Before calibration measures were taken, that is.
