Real Game

Posted by Michael Martus at 1/4/2001 10:08 PM EST

Coach on team #47, Chief Delphi, from Pontiac Central H.S. and Delphi Automotives Systems.

Joe johnson was all wrong. I was rummaging thru the garbage outside the ball room, and found empty boxed to brunswick bowling pins. The game this year is definitly using bowling pins, i have seen them. I have found a key laying outside the door and will go in and confirm that later on this evening. Look for more postings.

Mr. Martus,

Refer back to earlier postings after you have searched using my name (you might have to look back AWAYS)...

I HAVE PREDICTED PINS FROM THE START!!

Like I said, if a team was sponsored by Brunswick they would have the upper hand. Not to mention teams who had students who work(ed) as pinsetters at the local bowling alley.

Keep me posted....back here in Michigan.

-Erin

Nah. It`s not pins that will be the main feature of the game but the 14lb Bowling balls.
The game will be similar to last year with 15 balls at the other end of the field plus the 8 balls in the human player station.
The human player will be alowed to toss the balls 'with or without' a bounce into a goal.
Armour plate will be alowed only on odd # Robots while even # Robots will be alowed to use only square wheels.
Coaches will have to give instructions from a corral in the center of the field while blindfolded and to make things a little interesting Robots will have cattle prods protruding from their fronts. I thought about laser beams but thought they might be too dangerous.
Bet im more right.

Footballs would be really very cool. Can you imagine robots trying to chase them around the field?

We might as well have footballs...we've got those lovely egg-shaped "round" balls again...here's to many sleepless nights with the latest thing to come from the mind of FIRST...
