The only advantage I can see to Carbonite over Time Machine is the use of off-site storage (well, that and the avoidance of the nasty upgrade Apple made which rendered some Time Machine partitions useless, and yes, I use a Mac and Time Machine as well). While true that this is probably more focused towards business's, I do know a number of customers lately have been thankful due to the stormy weather the southern part of the US has been experiencing.
