Could anyone tell me how to download user written programs into the Default program slot? Also is there any way to load more information than the 2k alotted for each program?

You have to take the pin out of the default setting located on the control system(robot)and switch it to the other two pins....If you need more information, it should be written on the innovation first site @ www.innovationfirst.com

I thank you for your help, but I guess I just don't understand what you are trying to say. I would be grateful if you would clarify.

You can't overwrite the default program. You can however, overwrite the user program. There's a jumper that needs to be set on the Robot Controller in order that it runs the user program.

I have it on good authority (Tony Norman at Innovation
First), that is is not only possible to write to the
default program space, but it is a recommended practice.

FIRST is recommending that teams download their code
twice (once in default, once in user) so that you will
not have to re-download your code in the heat of battle
if a glich toasts one copy of your code.

This happened a few times last year to the great
displeasure of the teams that it happened to. This is
a work around until the cause of these very infrequent
loss of code problems is discovered and prevented.

Joe J.

I seem to remember trying to upload new code last year to the default space and I got some sort of error. As soon as I switched the jumper to the user program the program uploaded fine. Is there any documentation on how to do this, because I would like to be able to keep two copies in the robot at all times.
