Can we change the focus of this thread back to Andy and how he almost wet his pants on those 3 rides?

You missed a good show. I hope it gets resurrected somewhere after its stint at the Hilton is over.

The last time I was in Las Vegas, I...um...experienced the Star Trek Experience with a party of Klingon language enthusaists. About half of the group had dressed the part, complete with forehead ridges. The reactions of a couple of the cast members when we came into view were nearly worth the price of admission all by themselves.

And the moment when the voice on the intercom explains and apologizes for the rough ride ("The Klingons got in a few good shots") was amazing, as we all reacted spontaneously with cheers and gestures of triumph. It couldn't have been more perfect if we had rehearsed it. Our "escort" almost fell to the floor laughing.

Walking on Fremont Street? Meh, not so much. Almost getting arrested on Fremont Street? Slightly more exciting.

Re: pic: How to scare engineers

if you really want to scare them drop a handful of chopped up bolts in the bottom of the ride just before they get in dont "NOTICE THEM " until the restraining bar is down and the ride is starting to move.

(DON'T ACTUALLY TRY THAT- GOD KNOWS WHAT THEY MIGHT FOUL UP)

On a related note...it was a pleasure to share a beverage or two with you guys last Friday, and a thousand thanks, Andy, for hand delivering the beta test plaction wheels! And all we had to do was offer you an opportunity to see Greg pee his pants...but now we hear it was the other way around???

This thread reveals just a small subset of the many great reasons to come out to our regional, and Team 987 welcomes everyone to "try their luck" at our 5th regional...

Ah, so that's what it's been all my life - that rational knowledge of the way welds break, fasteners fail with cyclic loading, strength of materials, faulty slide rules, and so on. And, that's from an electrical guy...

There are SO many ways to kill yourself, and maybe even have fun doing it, that a roller coaster (one nightmare) atop a tall building (another nightmare - I have several) would simply make me pass out before anything could happen.

...and that's the REAL reason the panning system was invented - the Mars stuff was just a cover story...

Wow... the way I read this is that Dave thinks I'm a gift from God... with flattery like that, I'll photoshop what you want... just tell me what you need.
