Re: pic: How to scare engineers

My wife and I were in Vegas a few years back. We rode the roller coaster at the top of the Stratosphere. What a ride I had no intention of going on the ones that put you over the edge of the Sphere.
We also did the ST experience. There was a ST convention going on thet we didn't know about We would have loved to bring our uniforms with us (See WAI) I loved the announcement when you arrived at the hotel on the monorail. They used a Borg voice.
We also did the back stage tour.

So, is everything in Vegas the nice price of 99 cents, minus bail money & drive-thru weddings?
Sure seems that way from the prices on the signs in that picture.

Re: pic: How to scare engineers

As someone that worked for a traveling midway for two years (#1 man on a '63 Herrshan Skywheel thats the big yellow double ferris wheel) all I can say is you guys are nuts... I'd never go on any ride unless I put it up. And one on top a building? NO WAY!

Thankfully what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas

Re: pic: How to scare engineers

Some friends and I went to Cedar point a couple weeks back. While I truly enjoyed all of the rides, the pictures would have appeared to be a mix between horror and me being tortured.
Overall a great trip and we figured out how to ride the MeanStreak without it beating you up.
I think our next outing will have to be NJ to ride the King...

I always thought that the best way to ride Mean Streak without getting beaten up was not to ride it at all.

Kingda Ka isn't all that it's cracked up to be, but if you like Top Thrill Dragster, maybe it'll be something you like more than I do. Great Adventure's El Toro is really why you want to head to New Jersey.

The secret to the meanstreak is to pull yourself forward off of the back of the seat. This actually makes it a very enjoyable ride. We talked an enthusiast, who had written off Meanstreak, into trying it. He enjoyed it su much, we all rode it again.

Top thrill was a neat experience, but Millenium was a much better ride though. I like a good slow climb to build anticipation.
