[FTC]: New Kits

I've had a look at the new FTC kits this year and noticed a huge difference between this, and last years.

I've also had a look at the additional parts webpage and noticed that unlike last year, there are no sprockets, chains, bevel gears, or even tank treads available. Will none of these items be available for purchase this year?

Re: [FTC]: New Kits

That would be a "no" I think. I think we have to use what's in the kit. We do have the option of using Al and poly carb sheeting to make custom parts.

Re: [FTC]: New Kits

There is a site to buy extra parts (that are already included in the competition kit).

I'm guessing they didn't have the resources to produce all of the gears and stuff for this years competition and in years coming, new additions to the kit will be made (like a supplement kit for teams to buy with a big discount).

Where in the rule book does it say we can use aluminum and poly carbonate sheeting?

I have the same problem viewing the document with Apple Preview. The document looks fine when viewed on an Apple with Acrobat Professional. It should also work with the free Acrobat Reader.

Re: [FTC]: New Kits

they didnt put those specific items in the kit because they want people to be more creative. everyone ends up doing the same thing if there is tank tread and sprockets. use the legos and the servos, get creative!
