Question Re: pic: 2052's Tshirt cannon (and a knight)

Have you had any problems with your mecanums running on concrete?
Are they Andy Mark or team made?

Oh an, awesome design, I wish my team had the funding to build something like this.

You need to add a horse over the base so that he isn't riding on nothing. Or maybe just legs and so on. Although at first glance, a horse would be easier, with just some brown cloth.

Looks really nice, hope you get some attention with it.

It looks like they aren't on concrete but that new granulated rubber track surface. That stuff is quite nice for robot wheels of all types.

If you come to a FRC event to see a robot competition, you are missing the point.

Re: pic: 2052's Tshirt cannon (and a knight)

It shoots really well. We actually shot a few shirts over the stands (at about 70-80 psi).

We haven't run the mechanums on concrete. It's on a rubber track surrounding the astroturf field. We may however be switching to KOP wheels, just to prevent normal wear and tear from eating our mechanum wheels. There really isn't a huge advantage to having them anyways.

As for funding, that really isn't necessary. We currently have no sponsors (working on it...). The sheet metal for the knight was sheet metal someone didn't want and was giving away. The cannon part was the most expensive, but still cost less than $100.

Your Knight is just wonderful! Way to incorporate your robot into a show of school spirit! He could become quite popular at pep-rallys as long as the t-shirt shooting is under control!

This is really cool. I hope (insist) you document exactly how you did it, how other teams can adapt it to their logos, and put it in your award submissions.

Well done!
