According to
this post on Bill's blog, the issue is with the delivery of parts. In a perfect world, they'd have 3000 of everything waiting for the software to be finalized and they'd ship and sell everything at the same time.
Since it sounds like they are waiting on parts, I'd much rather them start shipping as soon as possible, and wait until there is an extra supply to sell team's second system.
Do I think the bar is too high? I think impossible dreams and lofty goals are a key part of FIRST; the "top" being extremely far away only pushes people farther. - Chris is me [more]
