Power.

Student on team #192, Gunn Robotics Team, from Henry M. Gunn Senior High School. In Reply to: Torque on motors... Posted by wingo on 1/17/2001 8:18 PM EST: The more important information about the motor you want to know is how powerful those motors are, instead of just the torque because you can gear the motors so the torque you want. Basically, the more power the motor setup have, the more torque/speed it can output. Because Power = Force(N) X Velocity(m/s) and also = Torque(N-m) X Angular Velocity (Rad/sec). You can learn all these in the wonderful presentations from Joe Johnson and Michael Ciavaglia. Here are the power output for each motor setup from one of the presentations in the white paper section: BOSCH Drill motor: 340w BOSCH Drill motor with high gear: 260w BOSCH Drill motor with low gear: 230w Fisher Price motor: 140w Fisher Price motor with gear box: 91w Van door motor: 69w Globe motor: 63w Globe motor with gear box: 50w Seat Motor: 31w Window Motor: 22w |
