Can we drill holes in the light to make it lighter and if we do what color will it be?

Well, that would count as a non-functional item, I would suppose, so it should be ok, but truthfully I don't see the point of removing the domes, they are very lightweight. Plus, if you really wanted to, lighting manufacturers make something called gels (jess, you should know about them from theater), which are much more heavy-duty than saran wrap, and will produce a richer color.

Jason, who thinks doing anything to the light is pointless.

But I'm just playing along with the entire thread anyway.....plus, I thought Saran Wrap would be more commonplace

You can probably drill holes in all 4 shell, and cover them with transparent color wraper around it to fool FIRST! You know what? just take the shells away and cover that little spinning part where lights come out from.

Last year tampering with the light was illegal. I can't find any rules prohibiting it this year. Was this an oversight?

I don't think that it is worth the trouble though, you would gain a few ounces at most, unless you plan to drill into the "meat" of the light.
