Team 1714 Beta presentation announcement

Project Name: 2009 FRC Control System Presentation

Note:
This will be a live webcast presentation. I will post the link in this thread when we have it set up. Other presentations we will be doing are posted on FIRSTforums.

Hosted by: Discovery World Museum

Sponsored by: Rockwell Automation & Discovery World Museum

Presented by: FRC Team #1714, More Robotics

Project Leader: Michael Wittman

Project members:
FRC Team #1714, More Robotics, invited two other teams to join the Beta Test Group. FRC Team #269, Cooney Robotics, and FRC Team #537, Charger
Robotics. Students and mentors include:
Team #1714: Sarah Wittman, AJ Rehfeldt, Joey Laabs, Collin Matthews, Owen Davies, Ben Knappenberger, Johnny Ensign,
Michael Wittman, Jason Bacon, Brian Cieslak, Dennis Miller, Bill Gierach
Team #537: Matt Kline, John Byrne
Team #269: Jon Stieber

Project description:
Beta Test Team #1714 will hold a presentation on the 2009 FIRST Robotics Control System. This presentation will include discussing system components, tests performed, results achieved, tips and tricks for using the new system, and demonstrating its function in an FRC Robot, followed by Q&A.

When:
Saturday, November 1st, 2008

Time:
1:30pm - 3:30pm

Where:
Digital Theater
Discovery World Museum
500 N. Harbor Drive
Milwaukee, WI 53202

Additional Information:
Entrance to the theater presentation will be free to FIRST Robotics Teams, however, parking and museum attendance is not included. There will be an additional cost if teams decide to stay and see the museum. The Digital Theater has a seating capacity of 131 people. Simply put, the first 131 people will be allowed in. My suggestion is to bring only those representatives from your team that need to know at this time. We want to make sure that some representatives from all teams are allowed into the theater. This event will be live web cast and recorded for future viewing. A link will be sent out to all teams when it becomes available. It will also be posted on our website located at www.morerobotics.org and on FIRSTforums.

Teams attending the WCTC kickoff. If you are unable to make this presentation, it will be held again at the kickoff workshops held at WCTC on Friday, January 2, 2009. There will be two 1 hour sessions with plenty of seating.

Re: Team 1714 Beta presentation announcement

This sounds great - in fact, it is exactly what I envisioned would be the best way for beta testers to get the word out beyond their own regions. Will the webcasts be archived and posted online for all to access after the fact?

EDIT - Never mind - it will be archived - missed it in the post. Looking forward to it.

Who watched? How was it? I missed it cause I got sucked into a Rock Band tournament in Trafalgar Square.

Re: Team 1714 Beta presentation announcement

OK, missing it for a Rockband Tournament seems reasonable. Fortunately we recorded the presentation and it can be played back at the same link as posted earlier.

Our Beta group is going to present at least 4 more times. I welcome any comments and suggestions to improve our presentation...Be gentle.. the webcast is a first for us and I admit that I did stumble through the technology a bit.

I guess I am asking if there is anything else you would like to know that we didn't comment on.

I get no audio when I view the presentation. I see the video and the slides, but no audio. Anyone else?

Re: Team 1714 Beta presentation announcement

I just watched the presentation. No problems with it at all. I must say there is a LOT of good information in it. It's a must view for all teams before they get their control system.

If you come to a FRC event to see a robot competition, you are missing the point.
