So, Anyone have an idea on what size the tables provided are?

Also, What size diameter and wall size of PVC pipes do most people use for their pits?

Thanks in advance.
I've never seen any that were not 6' long. I think they've had both 36" and 30" wide tables though.

Re: pit design

1 other thing: does anyone know any good ways to make a pit collapsible or at least easy to transport?

Re: pit design

pssst nathan, drop me an email or talk to me at meetings, I'm happy to help . But to answer your question, if you remember, today we decided on making it out of PVC pipe, so it will all come apart into smaller pieces and fit into our crate.

And the answer: it depends on the design. The "breakable" aspect is something to look into, though it may be less breakable than if it were on a robot. It's also easy to fix, if you have the budget for Lexan. Here's the difference: Plexiglass is typically a type of acrylic; Lexan is a brand of polycarbonate. Lexan is tougher to break. Weight for either depends on thickness. They can be heavy, but they can also be lightened with a holesaw or similar method.

Should have said "Plexiglass-Type material"

It'll probably be lexan, as were fortunate enough to have a member who's parents have a business doing that stuff.

Come to think of it, we used Plexiglass for our original electronics tray, and it broke so we used lexan.
