or people watching you fail on an easy song and say, "haha dude you suck at guitar". just because i can't synchronize to heart shape box dosn't mean i can't totally rock cliffs of dover. hand me a fender, we'll see who's better then.

People who think they aren't smart enough to even try robotics.
People who are to arrogant and think robotics is a waste of their time.
[edit] People who completely avoid robotics team members because they think that they will become nerdy by association.
People who are told two or three times to do something and don't.
Testing the robot for the fist time somewhere around midnight the night before ship.

I thought the same thing... But the grammarian in me says, "Let's look more closely at this sentence."

"Windows is shutting down"

First: There is no punctuation. On the computer screen, when this message appears, it is often followed by ellipses, which indicate continuing action. Possibly, there is no conflict with the rules of grammar.

Now, on to the sentence:

Subject --> Transitive verb --> Adjective

Where's the Direct object? In other words, what is Windows shutting down?

Or, Subject --> Linking verb --> Adjective

How does "shutting down" describe Windows?

I'm actually inclined to say that Microsoft's grammar is in fact incorrect. Note the other messages that appear around the message in question, or at similar times. No subject means that they are not complete sentences either.

This poem is pretty funny (it deals with the whole "Windows is shutting down" thing)
