Labview license
Sorry if this has been asked before, but what happened to the Labview download? It used to be on the 2009 control page, I believe, but it isn't there anymore. Did I miss it? Do I have to wait until we get our control system now? or is there something I'm missing? I have LV8.5.1, bt I still need the license file. Anyone know where I can get it?
Thanks. PS. I'm in a hurry so that might not make sense. Sorry. |

Re: Labview license
Whether or not you can find the files that you're looking for, you will still need to wait for the disks that come with the control system kit. The evaluation copy that could be downloaded is not the LabVIEW for FRC software you will need in order to program a robot.

Re: Labview license
If you're just looking for something to practice generic LabVIEW with you can download an evaluation copy of v8.6 it's available at http://www.ni.com/labview86/
The menus have some differences, but the FRC version you'll get in the KOP will have a lot more. You'll want to uninstall v8.6 before you install the FRC version later on when it arrives. |

Re: Labview license
Ok, will do... But what happened to the license file? I have 8.5.1 already, but we are rather confused as to why they would pull the DL, and not tell anyone anything. All the support docs link you to the 2009 CS page, and there is no download.
They obviously pulled it, but at least tell us something. ![]() |

Re: Labview license
I have to believe the link was pulled, because it actually caused quite a bit of confusion.
The DL was just generic LabVIEW, not the FRC version that will only come in the kit. But some people ignored that and tried to apply the FRC update patch to the DL generic version. That caused wierd problems and I imagine generated lots of calls to NI support. |

Re: Labview license
Yep. Agreed.
Anyways, I'm using 8.5.1 for learning now and anxiously waiting for the control system to make it to Canada. Thanks. |

Re: Labview license
So, we must wait for the kick off for it to come to Canada?

Re: Labview license
How many computers can I install LabView in?
We received the DVDs and a serial key, but I couldn't find this information |

Re: Labview license
Nominally up to 25, however there really isn't a hard limit.

Re: Labview license
When we installed the software, we used temporary liscensing. We're running out of time. How do we register the software so we can use it past the 30 day limit?

Re: Labview license
The DVD sleeve had a S/N that you use to activate the software.
You must be connected to the Internet. You start the NI License Manager from the Windows Start -> Programs -> National Instruments Then expand LabVIEW 8.5.1/Development System, Real-Time Execution Trace Toolkit 2.0, and Vision 8.6 Right click and activate everything you see with "FRC" in the name.
