I love FIRST because it teaches what I need to know...like what I REALLY need to know.

I think that nothing besides FIRST can bring nerdy teens (or pre teens in the case of FLL) so close together. It's educational in more than just the level of how to handle robots and compeitions. It educates on how live in the real world as adults with real life challenges and careers. I personally think it lets us use our brains for more than things related to school classes and forces us to think really hard for once. Good Job to the FIRST team and good luck to the teams competing this year!

I can't tell you how many times I've wished there was FIRST when I was in high school. But rather than mourn that which can't be changed, let me say it this way:

I love FIRST because I get to meet, and possibly even influence, people like all of you. And all of you fill me with the thought that there is hope for tomorrow.

i love FIRST because it makes highschool worth it. i learn far more from robotics than i have from the last 3 years worth of 7 daily class periods. FIRST has given me a definate path where before there was none.

It gives me a chance to nerd out and, other than debate, it is the only place where I actually feel like I fit in -- I'm on the same level as everyone else, we all share a common goal, we can actually work together. It allows us to put aside petty high school motives and disputes and achieve something great, something most high schoolers do not even dream of.

It is FIRST.

I'm new to this site, but not to FIRST. I love FIRST because it is a place where everyone fits in, where nerds are cool (well, we always are, but at FIRST everyone knows it) and it's the first group I've been in charge of where the students work and the adults just help, and where I can really see the results of everything I work so hard on take effect and make a difference. FIRST is a place full of friends, memories, and some of the most meaningful experiences of my LIFE!
