Go to Post I owe a debt, as many FIRSTers do, to the entire organization as a whole. Every team, every student, every person involved has help make FIRST what it is today. This is my Thank You. ~Anonymous - BandChick [more]

Re: Mentor Training Day, Clarkston, MI

I just want to thank everyone from Team Rush for a fantastic event!

The program started at 8am today and went until almost 5pm and was extremely beneficial for both the rookie teams in attendance, and somewhat more experienced teams such as ourselves. They provided each of us with a 70+ page book that covered everything from team organization to fundraising to build schedules and so much more.

Every rookie team - and most other teams too would greatly benefit from their presentation. I wish you all could have been there.

I'd like to especially thank Kyle Hughes, Shannon Moegling and Anthony Lapp along with their other mentors, Tim, Jim and Dennis and any others I might have forgotten. Your generous offer of your time and experience is truly appreciated!

You can really see the pure dedication these folks have to the goals of FIRST. They gave us access to every possible idea they could come up with to help us create better teams and to make the FIRST experience the best it could possibly be for our students. They really, really get it - it's all about the students - and they've dedicated themselves to helping every student they can - whether on their team or another - it makes no difference. Isn't that awesome!

Thanks again for a great day and sharing your 10+ years of knowledge and experience with us!

John
