Question How much growth should this place have?

As FIRST size keep growing and link of this forum spreading, I am wondering how big will this forum grow to, and how much more people can it take...?

To the Chief Delphi members who run this place, how big do you think this place should be in order for the forum to fun smoothly and optimally? When exactly is too much members that this forum no longer function they way you want it to?

Are you satisfied with the number of posts each day, and the pace of discussions? How do you feel about the number of members remaining only as readers and not posters?

I don't think this website/forum can handle infinite number of members, so I guess something should be done when the forum hit the limit… Maybe some way of dividing members into smaller groups and have their own separate forums, and only some of the discussions are shared between different groups when the issue is really big and controversial…

Just some thoughts…

You'd be surprised how many posts this thing can handle.

I've seen forums with over 1,000,000 THREADS.. (not to mention how many posts they have)

I have been on sites that have had 100's of people on at the same time (in the Who's Online list) out of a user base of 1000's.

So its really not a matter of can the forums handle it.
Its a matter of .. how can we keep up with the discussion you want to see and participate in, and block out the discussion you dont want to see and participate in.

Unhappy NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Ken, I think you're wonderful but...
I don't think anyone can handle any more restrictions this year. I'm glad to hear you say everything's a go, Brandon. Firsters can get real cranky when they don't get thier cd fix. I'm glad this won't get limited anytime soon.
