just because it would be interesting, are any of FIRSTs or NIs manufacturers or corp. offices in these cities? I don't know how that would relate unless each city somehow related to one line of the 2nd hint. I guess that would make the hint not a hint at the game or robot, but still.

Earlier EricH mentioned 4 team alliances. I think that this is definitely plausible because there are now more FRC teams than ever before. Does anyone know how many teams are registered this year? Maybe that could help us decide if 4v4 is possible.

I agree with the people who say that "zamboni" is important relating to the first line. It seems like the GDC is using google to get its hints. They got the first hint by googling "moonfish". They got the first line of hint #2 by googling "zamboni".

Basically, to figure out the hint, all we have to do is figure out what to google that brings up the location the hint says as the first result.

Now, the problem comes down to the rest of the lines. When you google "connected central phoenix" you get some lawyers' website. I think that this is the page that the GDC got, but we need to figure out what they searched for that brought them to that page.

I haven't gotten much with the third and fourth lines. For the third line I came up with "minnetonka moccasins" but that's just a hunch. And for the fourth it could be "dover evergreen classics" but that is also a hunch.

I think this method could work. and i think it is the closest i'll ever come to solving a hint

1689 FRC teams all told.

This is not going to be a very good method, though. What you need to do is look at what the lowest number of teams at an event is. If it's less than 32, you can't do a 4v4 game and keep it through normal eliminations. It's impossible. I can't think of an event offhand with that few, but who knows. I'll be back in a bit with the answer to: Is there an event with fewer than 32 teams?

And the answer is: Yes. (Waterloo, in case you were wondering which one.) 22 teams, 8 open slots. No 4v4 this year, unless they do a tweak that starts eliminations in the semis.

okay so we have a diagram...and we think that it has to do with the tree octopus...no but we think it has something to with staying on a path, with different stations along the way. or finding something that doesn't belong...i will post the diagram soon. it just has to send first.
