5v LED on Power distribution board?

The 5v LED is not lighting up on our control board, but there seems to be power to the web cam. Could this be just a bad light, or is something else not wired correctly?

Also, were do the fans on the victor 884's get wired up to?

Re: 5v LED on Power distribution board?

There have been a several reports of bad 5V indicator LEDs on the PD. Fortunately, it does not affect the operation of the board. Some teams are replacing the boards. Some teams are ignoring it and moving forward with out.

Re: 5v LED on Power distribution board?

We just unpacked our box last night and got started with the "Outta-the-Box" directions from the FRC website.

We also noted that our 5V LED was not illuminating. We didn't get around to troubleshooting it yet, but it's good to know that we're not alone.

For teams replacing the boards, how are they doing so and how long did it take? I sent email to frcparts@usfirst.org, asking if we needed to replace the board or not. It's been a week, and I've received no reply.

My concern with not replacing the board is that it might cause issues with robot inspectors at the competition.

You can wire them in parallel to the victors' +12 and ground inputs just like on the old IFI system.
