That's pretty awesome! It's still great, because clearly these children are really into FIRST, and that could possibly make an impact to natives in the surrounding areas.

Definitely. All we need is a start. So...is BMW gonna sponsor the native German teams or is Siemens? So many possible sponsors...

Re: FRC in Germany?

Figured I'd Unveil the Mist surrounding us back here in germany

If there are any questions about us then feel free to ask them here.
First and foremost, My name is Nick, And Yes, Wiesbaden is an American Military Base located in germany.

Our team is 3011 and team 2037 is pretty much the team thats going to show us the ropes. It is our first year in the program. And yes again. It does cost us a lot more,

One could say that we have an assload more work to do than the people in the states when bulding our robot because we use both the metric system and pay twice for all materials bought and shipped from the states. Flat tips are predominant in europe so its annoying working with drills and etc...
(Meaning, little use of phillips)

Personally, I'd suggest Torx or Hex socket (Allen) over Phillips anyway. I'm sure one or the other is available in Europe...
As for the Metric system, count your blessings. Once you're used to it, it actually makes much more sense.

Re: FRC in Germany?

Something really cool is that a foreign exchange student that we had in 2007 is working on building the first ever, all-German FRC team. He supposedly all ready has sponsors too! I'm excited about that because it's time to push our way into more countries!
