Toughbox got Encoders?
So our team ordered some toughbox regular output shafts for an offseason project. And the ones that came in the mail look a bit different than the ones on the website
In addition to replacing those foolish roll-pins with snap rings AM also appears to have added a smaller 1/4" dia shaft off the hex-side, which appears to be for one of the US digital encoders that AM carries. All very cool indeed. Who knows what other suprises await us in the kit this year? |

Re: Toughbox got Encoders?
I don't think that the basic toughbox has encoders, we also ordered one for the offseason but we had to order the ones "specially equipped" with encoders. If yours doesn't have it though, we put encoders on our last years robot and it worked just as well.

Re: Toughbox got Encoders?
I'm going to make a prediction. And say that in 2009 the Toughbox is still the KOP transmission but they have modified it to accept their encoder kit. And they have (smartly) replaced the roll pin with a clip. If this is the case,
I'M PUMPED! I loved the Toughbox last year, the gears defiantly took some wear, but they held up. Encoders would just make it that much better. |
