Re: 10x10x10 @ 30lbs?

Quote:
2 plastic totes: (27" x 17" x 12" each) 34 lbs each
1 Long box (6" x 6" x 36") 22 lbs
1 Square box (10 x 10 x 10) 30 lbs
1 Control System Box (24 1/4" x 15 1/2" x 12") 26 lbs (if not received early)
2 small boxes less than 5lbs. each
The conspiracy theorist in me finds it strange they don't list units for the 10 x 10 x 10 box as opposed to all the other box/bin sizes listed.

So, is it 10 Millimeters? Centimeters? Inches? Feet?!?!?
What could it be??

It must be feet, and it contains the new-for-2009 KitPit.

Re: 10x10x10 @ 30lbs?

The long box has traditionally been the framing box. The 10x10x10 at 30 LBs. sounds like the batteries to me. Each of those batteries weighs close to 14 lbs each if I remember correctly. 5 days and counting.. then my life becomes nonexistant for 6 weeks!!

Re: 10x10x10 @ 30lbs?

I'd guess batteries as well.

Taking into account there must be packing material on whatever it is, I can't really think of anything else that dense.

And if it's the gamepieces, even deflated if that's the case, god help us....

10 pin bowling balls are 16 lbs max, and 8.5" in diameter, so two can't fit in 10" cube with packaging I imagine.

While looking that up, I did see 5 pin balls, which are apparently 4.75"-5" in diamter, and 3.25-3.625 lbs. Very interesting....

I think the 10x10x10 box is the game peice....we are going to use blocks of 10x10x10 material(s)

Re: 10x10x10 @ 30lbs?

Maybe it's a mandatory burden each robot must bear? Dave, are you there?

A 1000 cubic inch, 30 pound burden might make a very interesting design constraint. Especially if it had to be used on the robot without any modification, exactly as received in the KoP.
