I think that anything that you can do with your own voice is fine. I don't mind people yelling or screaming for their team. What I don't like is when a team from a sponsor that sells hearing aids pulls out everything possible to make me lose my hearing. There is nothing wrong with showing team spirit by cheering on your team, but there is a line that should not be crossed.
As for in the Pits, I think those should be left for working on your robot. It isn't very easy to work when everyone is blaring their music from their robot cart, or making sure that everyone knows that team xxx has the best whistles. Especially when you are in the pits, please consider gracious proffesionalism before you make too much noise.
