Re: cRIO configuration issue- serial connection to laptop
Are you using a regular serial connection or a USB to serial converter? I have seen a similar problem in PCs that do not have the serial connection.

Re: cRIO configuration issue- serial connection to laptop
If I recall correctly, you must use a null modem cable between your computer and the cRIO instead of a standard serial cable. It's just like making a serial connection between two normal computers.

Re: cRIO configuration issue- serial connection to laptop
Can you confirm that the serial port on the computer is not broken?
Try to connect to the cRIO with a different computer with hyperterminal |

Re: cRIO configuration issue- serial connection to laptop
We plugged in our null modem to the cRIO, ran Hyperterm on the PC with COM1: 9600,8,n,n as you suggest with the console dipswitch set to ON and it worked first time. Ensure your serial port is enabled in the BIOS, enabled in Device Manager and no one has tinkered with the IRQ's etc.
I would also recommend testing with another PC. Tony, 1711 Raptors |
