RS-545 Banebots Motors

Hey, my team can't keep their parts in order and now I have two sets of motors: RS-545 sh and RS-545 ph. I can't figure out which was given out this year (info given in 10.2.3.2 in the Complete Manual). They are slightly different shapes...The sh have a gear attached, and the ph has holes on the face with the axle...

Nevermind! It is the RS-545 PH. They sound more powerful than the SH which is good. I checked with the mentor who picked them up and the picture on the banebots site.

Re: RS-545 Banebots Motors

no the dewalt transmissions. they are extremly efficient. my team used them last year and they were great. they got our robot to about 20 feet per second. they also work very well and they dont weigh a lot. the only problem is that they are a bit hard to work with. there is a pdf file on all of this, but i forgot what it was called. you might want to ask about that. my advice is dewalt transmissions in combination with CIM's.

The motors he is asking about are produced by banebots, which is what he was asking about.

Banebots gearboxes if used properly function just fine but that lack the "bulletproof" aspect dewalts have.

The KOP list says: RS385SH-2270. I haven't looked at our actual motors yet to see what it has printed on it.

I believe the motors are actually made by mabuchi, but may be mistaken.

Are you sure? I'm looking at the 2009 KOP Checklist and it says Separate Item: Motor, RS-545...Additionally, there's no RS-385...I saw some in our box of motors but my guess is that they are from a previous competition. If that's the case, you can't use the 385SH or the 545SH. I'm pretty sure you can only the 545PH.

I was looking at the KOP checklist that lists every part. It is found at this webpage:

http://www.usfirst.org/community/frc...nt.aspx?id=452

RS-385SH is on page 19 and RS-545 are on page 25. Sorry that I mixed up the two motors.
