another way...

Engineer on team #47, Chief Delphi, from Pontiac Central High School and Delphi Automotive Systems. In Reply to: PBASIC/control system question Posted by Chris Casinghino on 2/9/2001 5:35 PM EST: You can do it easily with a resistor, but I don't think it would be legal. Although... maybe FIRST would allow you to use a 100K pot as a resistor. Basically, you could have the switch either show no connection (reading 00 I think or maybe 255) and then when the switch is activated, the pot would read XX (e.g. 127, if you have the pot in the middle). It is not stictly by the book, so I would ask FIRST if it would be allowed. An easier way would be to pull some of the digital switch inputs that are available on ports 1 and 2 over to the box so that you have those available as well. All you have to do is make a Y cable that passes through all the important signals to the joystick and sends all the other signals you need over to your box. Sound Okay? Joe J. |
