In 2006, we used the FP motors and gearboxes to pick balls up. It wasn't the fastest one on the field, but it wasn't the slowest either.
The JVN Design Calculator (search in the white papers for it) is great for playing around with this stuff. Then, when a judge asks you why you chose a certain motor, you can answer with technical reasoning (speed numbers, torque numbers, etc) and not "Uhh...well...". Again, I'll plug the design calculator. Great tool. Thank you for it, John. |
