Re: pic: 379's test chassis and trailor on FRP
Please post video once you have the full test setup! I am sure many teams would love to see how a robot with trailer performs on the field and may not have the resources to build their own test trailer! Thanks!

Re: pic: 379's test chassis and trailor on FRP
I don't see any bumpers on the trailer. A realistic test in my mind would include the bumpers and whatever is used to mount them. Otherwise looks pretty good. However I'm more interested in how it will turn, but it doesn't look like you have enough to test turning.

The robot wasn't running at the time. This was taken during a strategy meeting.

We just obtained 20 FRP panels today. After we get permission from our lovely principal to install them in the school's multipurpose room next week, Team 379 is welcome to come over and drive around if they need the space. We'll be doing the same with a widebody version pulling our trailer next week. We'll make sure to grab some video. Geez, we get a new school and there's no room to put a full size field. I'd rather have our old, ratty small gym right about now..... ![]() Last edited by Travis Hoffman : 10-01-2009 at 20:43. |

Re: pic: 379's test chassis and trailor on FRP
We'll have a chassis designed very soon. I would like to see what kind of pushing/pinning abilities you have on this floor do you think we could arrange a test like that?

Re: pic: 379's test chassis and trailor on FRP
We haven't tried pulling a trailer yet, how's the actual pulling ability on the FRP? That's the one thing we've been curious about.. the acceleration without the trailer didn't seem to bad on the FRP, so I'm curious as to how it acts with the trailer on the straight line speeds.

And for reference, I'm the guy who makes everyone wear safety glasses when they're FILING. I think the battery will be okay. |
