Re: pic: 379's test chassis and trailor on FRP

In the video, we have four individually driven "slick wheels". No bumpers yet, sorry. And in this case, we are all wearing safety glasses because the robot is running.

We will be testing a wide chassis today and adding weight for a more realistic evaluation.

We just obtained 20 FRP panels today. After we get permission from our lovely principal to install them in the school's multipurpose room next week, Team 379 is welcome to come over and drive around if they need the space. We'll be doing the same with a widebody version pulling our trailer next week. We'll make sure to grab some video.

Geez, we get a new school and there's no room to put a full size field. I'd rather have our old, ratty small gym right about now.....

Good God Glasteel loves you guys right about now...
Did you order direct or go through like lowes or home depot...
What did the final bill come to 600 + shipping?

LOL looks like the Robocats will save us from posting similar video. Now if we could only get together and record some vid of robots trying to pin other bots' trailers and such. Perhaps by the end of the week, we can.

They were all there in stock at Home Depot.

We're lucky to have a smaller field area - we'd have had to buy twice as much if we were constructing a full field like we've done at the old facility since our inception.

It's not a bad deal when you consider how many other local teams will use the practice area before (and after) ship. I'm sure other teams and organizations who build larger practice facilities and share with others arrive at the same conclusion.

yeah, but like for our team we only have 3 (lowe's fails) but its concerning me that we dont at least have any rolling frame with the new wheels because the team coach claims that we dont have time to build mock ups of two different designs to decide which is better...

Of course.
Didn't you get the memo that the batteries are always on the edge of exploding when they are not in use?!?!?!
They are made from plutonium & thus highly unstable. Don't dare breathe near them or risk a catastrophe with a 3-alarm biohazard alert!!

Edit: Btw, I forgot my sarcasm tags here... My bad!

no you just were safety glasses around the robot to start with runing or not, if you do it in the shop (or build location) you do it at events safety shouldn't be an act that we whip out at regionals but should be practiced at all times...
