1712 Chassis Tests
Hey everyone-
Here are some links to tests we've done on the Regolith with our 70 pound chassis so far. Turns out that putting all the extra weight (approx. 50 lbs) in back makes turning great but you kinda can't drive at all, and putting all the weight in the front makes drive great but you kinda can't turn at all. video of all weight in back: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4XzKR9Hbn4M Putting about 1/4 of the extra weight in the back and 3/4 in the front gives a nice balance... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wS-jxr7zDKc We are also planning on experimenting with moving the front wheels as far back as we can to see how that impacts turning.
