I did not read all of the follow ups, so I hope this is not a repeat. We use a female spade(.187 tab)crimp connector that will accept a #10 wire (yellow insulation). After crimping the connector, we allow solder to flow into the crimped connection. After sliding the connector onto the motor tab, we solder the connector to the tab. This allows a "convenient" mechanical connection with the low resistance of a solder joint. Remember, a bad connection is the same as an under sized conductor and it will get hot when current flows through it. No warranties with the above method but it works for us. By the way, that tab size with #10 crimp are hard to find.
