Pneumatic Cylinders: what types are allowed

My questions is is there any specific brand of pneumatic cylinder that we have to use or is pretty much up to us? It seems like it is but I don't want to end up being wrong?

In addition to the pneumatic cylinders provided in the Kit Of Parts and the “free” pneumatic cylinders available for order through the Free Pneumatic Components Order Form, additional air cylinders or rotary actuators may be used. Cylinders may be of any configuration, and may be of any size up to a maximum of 24-inch stroke and 2-inch diameter.

So basically I'm asking what kind of limitations should my team be aware of before we make any sort pneumatic related purchases.

edit again: Read the manual...don't make the mistake I did and assume things are as they were previously

edit: the last page of the pneumatics manual shows the "free" sizes.
