Streaming Video Through cRIO

Hey CD,

I can successfully connect to axis cam when it is connected directly to my computer's Ethernet port (using the crossover cable), or when it is connected as another node on the 10.xx.yy.z network. When I connect it to the cRIO, however, my computer can obviously no longer connect to it over the normal Wifi connection. I was experimenting with starting a PCVideoServer on the cRIO in my C++ program, and it does apparently start up ok. I can successfuly track blobs of colors, print out coordintes, etc.. But I can not find any way to stream a live feed to my computer. What program do you use for this? How do you configure it?

I'm using Windriver, C/C++. My code is located here if you want to take a look (look at Camera.cpp and Michael1Camera.cpp

Thanks--
--Jordan

Re: Streaming Video Through cRIO

We tried Labview's Dashboard Demo, but it complained that we were not at IP 10.xx.yy.6 (in huge black letters on a yellow background).. http://i40.tinypic.com/2zz7rpc.png

The PC, however, was in fact at 10.xx.yy.6. Our setup is as follows:

PC: Wifi Static IP 10.xx.yy.6
CRIO through Bridge 10.xx.yy.2

I can ping it and load code to it from Windriver.

Re: Streaming Video Through cRIO

Is your pc wired to the driver station or the router? When we were testing it yesterday, it worked while connected to the driver station. (didn't test through the router)

Re: Streaming Video Through cRIO

Hmm.. I don't know why that would matter.. But I'll try it through the driver's station back at the lab on tuesday and will report back!

Re: Streaming Video Through cRIO

Have your properly set up a static IP address?
For easy setup and switching, you might want to look at the batch scripts I wrote.
