Sorry, I should have specified what I was talking about. Of course it is much easier to use a lathe or mill for some of the shaft and bearing parts as close tolerances must be kept on those parts for the system to run well.
Provided we can CAD exactly what we need (and my CAD skills, while not great, should be sufficient) we do have access to a machinist that will assist us with small parts like the things you mentioned. Once again, the pictures are awesome! It looks like you guys are making great progress. Now I just have to convince my team to be as transparent as you guys are (I guess we have to be taking pictures before we can be sharing them though...). |
