Team 375 about 98 percent done!

Student on team #375, Robotic Plague, from Staten Island Tech and Verizon.

Just made my account and checking in. We had some great test runs today. Anyone else have the tower fall right onto the robot or the robot roll over and still work? We have experienced both now and the robot is still in good shape. Tomorrow will put finishing touches on the bot and we are ready to go. Key features are speed, balancing one bin on ramp and "monitoring the ramp". Original plan of balancing two towers on ramp was scrapped because we felt the drill motors on our chain drive could not take that kind of pressure.

This year we decided to mentor a rookie team here in Jacksonville. They brought their robot to 'play' on our practice field. It was the squirreliest thing ever. It was about about 1.5' tall and had front wheel drive (the back wheels were just casters....) needless to say, it couldn't go in a straight line and whenever it went over the bridge it did a 360 spin that looked absolutely... strange. My fellow driver from our team (resistance) gave the driving a go and managed to flip it over... and the coach was like.. oh crap.. but she flipped it over just before he got out there to do it himself. I thought it was cool in that... thank god it's not my robot way.

As for ours.. well.. we've had it tip quite a few times. More than a few of them were my fault as co-driver..but.. shh!!

That robot is fast and well-designed. After I flipped it, its ball-manipulating arm righted it. That's just cool. It ran great for the rest of the day. Anyone else have a righting device? (I'll be glad to test it.) Look for Resistance; I'm the one with the cast (last year's bot).

Youre putting two "http://"s in your web address, which makes it not work, just thought you'd like to know.

Btw, it's really nice to see so many people from 86 posting on CD lately!

Not to be an idiot, Katie, but where's that? That's
why I couldn't do it- couldn't find it.
