Team 177 - The Bobcats

Posted by Tom S. at 2/20/2001 1:10 AM EST

Student on team #177, The Bobcats, from South Windsor High School and International Fuel Cells.

we just put the finishing touches on our bot... i just got home from our meeting (note the time)

there are five pictures available...

http://www.geocities.com/tas246tom/Bobcats-2.jpg

http://www.geocities.com/tas246tom/Bobcats-4.jpg
http://www.geocities.com/tas246tom/Bobcats-5.jpg

Here is what we can do:

-We limbo
-Balance both goals with the help of an alliance partner (neither bot being on the bridge)
-Balance one goal from the floor very quickly
-Pick up the big balls and place then on the goals (even if they are on the bridge)
-move the goals easily anywhere on the field
-we can control the bridge to make if face either towards or away from us.

Well... its all set to go... can't wait to see you all in hartford... come by and visit us in the pits!!

Good luck...

Tom Schindler
Team 177

Great job Bobcats! Can't wait to hang out with you guys again at UTC!

But anyway...another UCONN student thats a FIRST alumnist and no team yet! That I dont get....but if I don't get the moolah from Babson, Bentley, or NEastern to go there, then I'll be at UCONN with my friend Jen (already accepted into the honors program and possibly into the pre-med program), and we can help you start something up, if you want

Dude! Jess, contact me, i know we talked a bunch at the UTC regional last year, you probably dont remember....we tried to start up a team, but there was no real faculty interest, we have some engineers that are interested, and there is a high school RIGHT here, as in, right accross from my dorm...my roommate did FIRST, and i know she would be interested, and there are MANY others, so, there really is no shortage of support up here, great area to start a team! Contact me especially if you decide to come here, let me just tell you how awesome it is here, it is SO much fun, and i love it so much, but e-mail me to, and this goes to any other college seniors looking to attend UConn, if you have any questions or ANYTHING you want to ask, e-mail me....
