How did YOU drive your team nuts these six weeks?

Posted by Jessica Boucher at 2/21/2001 6:42 AM EST

Student on team #237, Sie-H2O-Bots, from Watertown High School and Eastern Awning Systems & The Siemon Company.

Just curious

I walked around doing bell kicks and singing stuff from random musicals:

"Go home, go home, go home with Bonnie Jean....go home, go home...I'll go home with Bonnie Jean"

"I told a doctor, he said 'Son, I cannot offer you a bill', so I never found relief, and now Ive got to move until...I've had my fill, I can't stand still"

"Ed Sullivan....Ed Sullivan...we're gonna be on Ed Sullivan.....how could any family be, half as fortunate as we....we'll be coast to coast, with our favorite host, Ed Sull-ivan"

And then, on Sunday...
"Tomorrow we'll be far away, tomorrow is the judgement day, tomorrow we'll find out what our God in Heaven has in store....one more dawn, one more day, one day more!"

And if you can name all of those musicals, then thats what you probably did to drive your team nuts during the 6 weeks too.

Hi Jess!! What's up robot girly? Nick didn't beat you up that day did he?
I didn't sing these out loud of course, but my chorus lines from being the Queen in my senior musical were always in the back of my mind somewhere. I think I basically just drove them nuts because I CONSTANTLY wanted to play with the bridge... It really amazed me...to me its like, the coolest thing since Sprite (im a dew hater), and I was constantly trying to decipher it and figure out tricks and just all around play with it.

Another thing that may have driven them nuts... I didn't get to go to my shipping party yesterday work wouldn't let me go, I even tried telling them I was sick.. it was pretty sad... oh what a sad day!!

Most members of my team were too tired to sing. Random sentances, yes.

I personally drove my team nuts in two ways. One was a bombardment of emails, reminders, opinions and other things. And by playing the circle game. If anyone watches Malcolm in the Middle then you know what I am talking about. I even took a digital picture of my friend doing it and walked around showing people it. I was getting people with it at 3:30 in the morning. Boy are people tired of that game.

Jason Trotter

P.S. For those of you who don't know, the circle game is where you make a circle with your pointer finger and thumb. If you catch someone looking at it below your waist, then you get to punch them. We had official rules.

So thats where that annoying thing came from.

Whenever my friends did it, they would say its a "Wally thing".

For those of you who don't know what "Wally" is, it's the contraction of "Wallaston", a section of Quincy.

That game does get annoying, especially when its played every ten seconds like my friends do (my arm sometimes felt like it would throb off).

The moral of the story? Never, ever look down.

i don't think it drove any one nuts... but it was fairly amusing at 3am..

but note the cart picture... who says that those skills you learn in preschool don't stay with you forever.. the fingerpainting worked just fine on that !!

thank god for latex paint

I took measurements of the robot with a pair of calipers and a notebook. I got in every engineers way and was pushed to the side as they rushed to get it done...

Heh, no, actually I've gained a 6th sense where i can detect an engineer heading for something im over or in front of about 712 times out of 743. Bah well. That's me, like me or not.

I didn't get to spend much time in the lab this year, so when i came in i made sure to have either a fun catchphrase (such as Fired!) or some obvious suggestions for the mechanical engineering branch...

we have fun playing off each other because i'm a student of management information systems (ergo why i'm a "team manager&quot
