How you make the quarter pipe curve might depend on what else the balls are doing that will ride on it. We are using some thin 3/4" poly tubing as bottom and side rails, to guide the balls up from the harvester to the shooter, with a kind of flapper wheel thing in the middle to drive them. If the balls will be compressed against the quarter pipe, then it needs to be pretty substantial, and the idea of using several plywood supports sounds good.
