Shawn, their team leader, will be coming to work in a few hours, so he'll definitely be able to answer your questions better than I can. . .

But, as an alumni, and former team member (and founder), I am impressed by this year's design.

It doesn't pick up balls, but it's fast and maneuverable, and I look forward to being allied with my former team during the Long Island Regional. . .

Their webpage was recently pulled down off of the Sachem server. . .I don't know if it's being updated, or if it was an error of the netadmin there. . . But, either way, I don't think there were any pictures of the new 'bot on it. Check the CD Gallery for a picture. . . under the CAD Man, I believe.

That picture of our robot posted by cad man is our robot before it was complete. It looks much nicer w/ our “spoiler” of a claw. Basically it can go under the barrier and move the bridge from full up to full down (2 ft range of motion). It can pull two goals or the stretcher w/ 150lbs on it over the bridge. It moves too fast to accurately handle so a programmed "low range" button is used if we need to do delicate maneuvers. At full power it can do burnouts across the carpet (we have to be careful of that because its damaging the playing field) and do fun wheelies. :-) We almost always use the low range button. It lets the robot move at 1/3 full speed.
