servos not responding to camera code

Hi, we are attempting to run the demo camera code on the bot. The code deploys fine and appears to be tracking the colors. The program is set to gimbal, the servo ports have the jumpers put on them. The indicators show that the servo should be searching for the colors however they aren't moving. The digital sidecar is connector to the module in port 4.

Any suggestions as to how I could solve this problem?

Thanks!

Re: servos not responding to camera code

Another thing to add is that the RSL light is blinking. I'm not sure what that means.

Blinking means the robot is disabled. No PWM outputs will be present, so the servos will not respond.

What does the Driver Station screen show while this is happening? (The word "Enabled" should appear, along with a reasonable battery voltage.)

Re: servos not responding to camera code

I'm no longer at the bot now since it is about 11p here, but if I recall I saw a voltage of 0.0v and it was enabled. The RSL still blinks. Thing is when we run our code, the voltage reads a reasonable value so Im not sure what is different here. The labview program has been updated to the most current update.

Re: servos not responding to camera code

There are three different blink rates for the RSL LED.
Here is the documentation:

Re: servos not responding to camera code

The camera doesn't use the FPGa at all. Meanwhile the servos need PWMs and are produced by the FPGA.

I think that if you run the dashboard or probe for errors, you will see that your FPGA isn't being loaded because it is an incompatible version. If you see this error, update the image on the cRIO to the latest, 11 I think.

Re: servos not responding to camera code

We've got the same problem. Labview is updated with the latest update, we reimaged the cRIO properly, everything else in the demo code seems to be working fine (we get live camera feed, the modules in labview show that the servos should be moving, we tried switching out the servos for other ones, and they are plugged in to the right ports....PWM 9 and 10, matching the default).
But the servos refuse to move.

Re: servos not responding to camera code

Probe the error wire on some of the I/O to see if you are getting a version error such that your FPGA isn't version 11, or if you are getting a watchdog error. You can also see errors by running the dashboard.

Re: servos not responding to camera code

Does the two pin connection next to the PWN channel the servo is plugged in have a jumper? That kept one of the teams I work with stuck for a few hours.

Make sure it's set to Gimbal Track.

You can also test the channel by plugging in a Motor and watching if it moves.

Re: servos not responding to camera code

Yeah, that was it. Thanks! We figured it out just as I posted...I guess what happened was that we lost the jumpers (or never got them) so we forgot about them...We found some off old victors though and now it is working fine.
